Prayer for the African National Eucharistic Congress

Lord Jesus Christ, on the eve of your sacred passion, you instituted the Holy Eucharist as the Sacrament of your Body and Blood. We invoke your divine presence among us as we gather for the African National Eucharistic Congress.
Our Eucharistic Jesus Christ, it is your will that the Church in every nation, culture, and language be fed, nourished, and sustained by the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Grant that we may be found worthy to share in the eternal banquet of heaven with all the saints.
Renew a right spirit within us, to be instruments of your peace and justice. May we celebrate this precious gift of unity with joy and bear faithful witness to the gospel all the days of our lives. We ask that through the celebration of the African National Eucharistic Congress, we who are many, with a diverse cultural background, may become one for your greater honor and glory.
Draw us together by our faith in you and set our hearts on fire with love for you and our neighbors. May Mary Our Mother of Africa, your Mother, intercede for us always in your presence. We ask this in your name Jesus Christ who is Lord for ever and ever.
